Spurn: Rhythms and reflections
A site-specific audiovisual installation in Spurn Point Lighthouse from May- October 2025. A collaborative project with Dr. Justin Morey from Leeds Beckett University. The result of 2 years of R&D site visits which were kindly funded by Leeds Beckett University. During the visits we walked the land, sketched, took field recordings, interviewed local people and conservation workers, and observed the place from a huge variety of perspectives. The final piece incorporated kaleidoscopic hanging panels featuring selected imagery that reflected and repeated in the neighbouring panels, and Justin’s soundscape that wove together nature sounds, oral histories and sounds recorded inside the lighthouse. The work captured cycles and patterns that repeat at The Point and reflected the ever changing nature of the place.
